About Madlyn

Madlyn’s first recognised the importance of voice whilst learning about her own, during her studies of AMEB Classical Singing. She was shown a video of the larynx, which spiked her interest in a career helping other singers to understand their own voices. She graduated La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters of Speech Pathology in 2013. Alongside her role at Voice Therapy, she has worked in the public hospital system across the continuum of care, now specialising in head and neck cancer. Her public appointment allows her to lead research projects in the area of laryngeal hyper-responsiveness in cancer patients, and provide therapy to those whose voices have been altered by cancer. She feels privileged to still be pursuing her original goal of working with singers and professional voice users at Voice Therapy, and now enjoys fostering the passion for voice in young Speech Pathologists by provision of student supervision. She is the sitting Secretary of the Australian Voice Association.
