Otosclerosis

The middle ear has three bones, including the incus, stapes and malleus. Otosclerosis causes changes in the bone involving the stapes. This results in the stapes becoming fixed which impairs sound conduction. Common symptoms of otosclerosis include hearing loss and tinnitus.
