Cholesteatoma

Cholesteatomas are abnormal growths of skin or skin cysts that most commonly arise from the eardrum and expand into the middle ear and mastoid.

If left untreated they can cause infection and damage the delicate structures in your ear, resulting in hearing and balance problems. The symptoms of a cholesteatoma may include ear discharge, and hearing loss.
