Paragangliomas are a rare tumour in the head and neck and although most are just a single lump, some people have genetic susceptibility to these tumours and may present with multiple paraganglioma lesions. Occasionally paraganglioma produces chemicals that may lead to a presentation such as palpitations or high blood pressure. Paraganglioma and carotid body tumour require a thorough work-up to confirm diagnosis.
